Questa è la prima opera enciclopedica in italiano dedicata alle truppe controcarro tedesche nella seconda guerra mondiale. Il testo ne descrive l'organizzazione, le dotazioni in armi, mezzi e uomini, gli ordini di battaglia, le tattiche, l'armamento e il relativo munizionamento, dalle origini nella grande guerra alla nascita della Panzerabwehrtruppe nella Reichswehr allo sviluppo dei pezzi PAK della Wehrmacht e relativi trattori al combattimento ravvicinato dei corazzati nemici ai semoventi controcarro, dai primi Panzerjäger I alla serie Marder ai Ferdinand/Elefant e Hornisse/Nashorn sino agli Jagdpanzer IV e Panzer IV/70, dagli Jagdpanther, Jagdpanzer 38 (t) e Jagdtiger, agli altri cingolati o ruotati dotati di pezzi PAK di serie, sperimentali o improvvisati, all'uso controcarro degli Sturmgeschütz III e IV ai mezzi di preda bellica, inclusi i semoventi italiani. Con approfondimenti sulle difese fisse controcarro comprese le Pantherturm, sulla mimetizzazione e i simboli tattici dei semoventi Panzerjäger, sulle uniformi degli equipaggi, sulle battaglie combattute e sugli "assi" decorati della Ritterkreuz. This is the first encyclopedic work in Italian dedicated to the German anti-tank troops in the Second World War. The text describes the organization, the endowments in weapons, vehicles and men, the orders of battle, the tactics, the armament and the relative ammunition, from the origins in the great war to the birth of the Panzerabwehrtruppe in the Reichswehr to the development of the PAK pieces of the Wehrmacht and related tractors for close combat of enemy armored vehicles to self-propelled anti-tank vehicles, from the first Panzerjäger I to the Marder series to the Ferdinand/Elefant and Hornisse/Nashorn up to the Jagdpanzer IV and Panzer IV/70, from the Jagdpanther, Jagdpanzer 38 (t) and Jagdtiger, to the other tracked or wheeled vehicles equipped with serial, experimental or improvised PAK pieces, to the use against tanks of the Sturmgeschütz III and IV to the means of war prey, including the Italian self-propelled vehicles. With insights into fixed anti-tank defenses including the Pantherturm, the camouflage and tactical symbols of the self-propelled Panzerjäger, the uniforms of the crews, the battles fought and the decorated "axes" of the Ritterkreuz. Illustrated with mostly unpublished b&w and color photos and color profiles.
